1. Give a brief bio about yourself and/or your studio.
CAROL PRENTICE is best known for her ambition, motivation and heartfelt desire to help others. On her own, Carol has explored and traveled to 16 different countries around the world and still has goals and dreams of traveling to others. Prior to her extensive travels, Carol completed a degree in Psychology from Brock University and a degree in Social Work from McMaster University.
Having always been drawn to study the mind, body, spirit connection, Carol’s path led her to become a certified Yoga Instructor and a registered Social Worker. She has been dedicated to her classical Hatha Yoga practice since 2001 and has been teaching Hatha Yoga with devotion since 2006. Carol has always worked for herself as a freelance Yoga Instructor at different studios in the Niagara Region.
Determined to find a way to combine her love of travel and passion for teaching Yoga, Carol discovered hosting yoga retreats as the perfect answer. Now she is helping other Yoga Teachers plan and host their own yoga retreats around the world.
Carol is truly an inspiration for all Yoga Teachers who are ready and willing to explore new alternatives to creating prosperity while doing what they love. Her passion and zest for life is evident as she coaches others on the path to financial success.
She takes a wholehearted approach when guiding fellow Yoga Teachers towards achieving health, wealth, prosperity and financial abundance. A quote that has inspired her path is from Paramhansa Yogananda (East West Magazine, 1928):
"Money making is the next greatest art after the art of realizing God. All the good and charitable works of the world, all noble successes, have to be accomplished through money. No saint lived who directly or indirectly did not use money. But the great paradox and riddle of life lies in wisely and mindfully acquiring money."
Carol’s eventual goal is not only to raise the level of consciousness on the plant but to help others on their path to wisely and mindfully acquire financial wealth and abundance.
2. What styles of yoga you teach? / Do you or your studio specialize in one?
Carol currently teaches Gentle Hatha Yoga and Relaxation techniques as she most values the peace of mind that the practice brings. Qi Kung and Tai Chi are also a regular part of her own personal practice and sometimes the classes she teaches.
3. What makes your teaching or studio unique?
Carol’s teachings are unique because she is now focused on teaching other Yoga Instructors alternative ways to create financial wealth and abundance in their lives. She is willing to challenge the notion that “money is the root of all evil” and instead recognize that money is a form of energy like everything else. It can be used for negative things but it can also be used to help change the world and help those that are suffering or need of food and shelter.
4. Do you or your studio provide other services other than yoga?
Carol offers two alternative ways for Yoga Teachers to mindfully create financial abundance in their lives and hopefully help the causes that are closest to their heart.
First, she offers a “Yoga Retreat Success Program”, including and E-Book and audio CDs, that outlines how to plan and host a successful Yoga Retreat. The Program focuses on how any yoga teacher can generate prosperity hosting a retreat and provides a step-by-step process for doing so.
Second, she offers an opportunity to team up with the world renowned Chopra Centre as Zrii Distributor. Zrii is an Ayurvedic liquid nutritional supplement and the Zrii business opportunity is a chance to create what is known as passive or leveraged income. Again, Carol offers financial and business training to those who join to become Zrii distributors. Not something you see offered in every yoga studio!
5. What is your favorite yoga posture? And why?
Headstand…..because it has taught me what is possible with regular, consistent and diligent practice.
6. Who is your favorite yoga teacher?
Melanie Herman…my first yoga teacher. I would not be where I am today without her. I truly have deep gratitude in my heart for all of her guidance and teachings.
7. How long have you been doing yoga?
Since 2001. The best part is that in my heart I know that this is just the beginning and that the path is ever unfolding with infinite potential!
