February 27, 2007 - Yoga Directory Canada, Canada's largest yoga directory, has came on board to help promote this year's yoga-thon for Schizophrenia.

This year's yoga-thon takes place on April 22 at the CBC's Atrium. Come breathe, stretch and relax at this annual yoga-thon for Schizophrenia. All are welcome, from beginners to advanced yoga enthusiasts.

The day will begin with a 3 hour instructional Master Class for all levels taught by Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre. Your Master Class will be followed by a light lunch, entertainment and a variety of workshops during the afternoon. The day will conclude with a closing ceremony featuring a performance from SWAHA.

"We are so exciting to help support events such as these." says Yoga Directory Canada director Jennifer Malisauskas. "This is one of the reasons why we created Yoga Directory Canada in the first place. It's our goal to have Yoga Directory Canada help bring more awareness to more events like these, so we can strengthen our Canadian yoga community even more."

This year's funds will help support SSO's Early Intervention Program which seeks to raise awareness of psychotic disorders. This will lead to early diagnosis and treatment and enhance the chances of recovery among young people.

All Yoga-thon participants will receive a t-shirt from Roots Yoga Studio, free class passes to leading Toronto Yoga studios, as well as a complimentary copy of the spring issue of Ascent Magazine.

Schizophrenia Society of Ontario was founded in 1979 as a non-profit organization by Bill and Dorothy Jefferies. It's mission is to improve the quality of life for families affected by schizophrenia. Family is defined by caring relationships between people with schizophrenia, their relatives, friends, and other individuals in a supportive capacity.
